Coldplay To Be Featured On 'Catching Fire' Soundtrack: Which Other Artists Should Volunteer?

Catching FireBy now you've probably heard the news that Brit band Coldplay will contribute a new song, "Atlas," to "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" soundtrack, which will be available for digital download on August 26. This marks the first time the rockers have recorded an original song for a film (though you've probably heard their music in many others, including "The Amazing Spider-Man" and "Garden State").

The announcement got us thinking about which other artists we'd like to see on the upcoming album. My first inclination was towards MS MR, whose epic "Bones" was memorably featured in the season three trailer for "Game of Thrones." The rest of the duo's debut album, Secondhand Rapture, is equally grand, suitable for the gravitas of "Catching Fire."

Las Vegas-based Imagine Dragons have had success with movie collaborations of late, first gaining notice for "It's Time," featured in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" trailer, followed by the appearance of "Radioactive" on "The Host" soundtrack. I'm particularly fond of their "Nothing Left To Say," with its driving beats and frenetic energy—perfect for a budding revolution.

And, given Katniss' rural roots, something a bit more bluegrassy could be in order. Dare we recommend Mumford & Sons? (Hey, if Arcade Fire and The Civil Wars were suitable for The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond, this folk rock band certainly is!)

Which artists do you want to see on the soundtrack for "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire"? Tell us in the comments and on Twitter!
